Introduction
At Reminiscent Interiors, every home we design is shaped around the people who will live in it — their lifestyle, their routines, and their sense of comfort. When we took on the project for Nischitha’s Independent House in Bangalore, the brief was clear: create a space that feels open, functional, and serene while ensuring every detail serves a purpose.
This was not just about good-looking furniture — it was about designing a home that would feel effortless to live in, day after day.
The Design Vision: Simple, Practical, and Personal
Our approach to this project was rooted in simplicity. Nischitha wanted her home to feel uncluttered yet warm — with intelligent storage, calm aesthetics, and small touches that made each room feel special.
The overall palette stayed neutral and soft, allowing natural light to play its part in making the space feel open and airy. The result is a home that feels both practical and personal — a perfect reflection of its owner.
The Living Room: A Functional TV Unit that Anchors the Space
The living room serves as the heart of the home, and its design was centered around a functional TV unit. Instead of going for a bulky or overly ornamental design, we kept the unit sleek and well-proportioned.
Open shelves for display, closed cabinets for storage, and a minimal panel design ensure that the TV wall becomes a visual anchor without overwhelming the space. The layout allows for easy movement and creates a natural flow into the adjacent dining area, making it perfect for both quiet evenings and casual gatherings.
Bedrooms: Personal Retreats with Purpose
Each bedroom in this Independent House was designed to feel unique yet connected by a common design language of calm tones and clean lines.
Kid’s Bedroom – Wardrobe + Bay Window Seating
The master bedroom comes with a thoughtfully designed wardrobe that offers ample storage while maintaining a minimal look. One of the highlights is the bay window seating, which transforms the corner into a cozy nook — perfect for reading, morning coffee, or simply enjoying the view. This simple addition adds character and makes the room feel more inviting.
Master Bedroom – Wardrobe + Dresser
The second bedroom is equally functional, featuring a wardrobe with well-planned compartments and an integrated dresser. This eliminates the need for an additional piece of furniture and keeps the space feeling uncluttered.
Both bedrooms maintain a sense of calm with lighter colour palettes and a mix of textures that feel soft yet durable.
The Kitchen: Simple, Elegant, and Efficient
The kitchen was designed with one goal in mind — functionality without compromise on aesthetics. This simple but beautiful kitchen is modular, with well-planned zones for cooking, prepping, and storage.
Soft-close drawers, overhead cabinets, and tall units were chosen to make everyday cooking smooth and hassle-free. The finishes are light and neutral, keeping the kitchen bright and airy even during busy mornings.
Creating Cohesion: A Home That Feels Connected
One of the key aspects of this Independent House in Bangalore is ensuring that each space feels part of a bigger story. For Nischitha’s home, we achieved this by maintaining a cohesive colour palette and using similar finishes across rooms.
The result is a flow that feels natural — from the living area to the bedrooms to the kitchen — tying the home together in a subtle, sophisticated way.
The Reminiscent Approach: On-Time, Honest, and Collaborative
At Reminiscent Interiors, we believe great homes are built on more than just good design — they’re built on trust and process. For Nischitha’s home, we maintained transparency at every step — from the design stage to execution.
Regular milestone updates and collaborative decision-making ensured that the project stayed on schedule and reflected Nischitha’s vision at every stage.
A Home Designed for Life
In the end, this project was about more than just finishes and furniture. It was about creating a home where every detail — from the TV unit to the bay window to the kitchen — serves a purpose and contributes to a space that feels warm, functional, and enduring.
